In addition mvComponents 3.0 will be developed for existing COM-based development environments, Microsoft's new .NET platform, and for Sun Microsystems's J2EE Java-based development environment. The new COM and .NET versions should be available the 2nd Quarter of 2002 with the Java-based version available the 3rd Quarter of 2002.

December 31, 2001:  An updated version of mvComponents Suite is now available from VantagePoint Software. November 16, 2001:  VantagePoint Software announces that new releases of Power Strings and Vantage Control Set are under development. Power Strings will be release the 2nd Quarter of 2002, while Vantage Control Set will be released during the 3rd Quarter of 2002.

While the 2.0 version of Power Strings has been available as part of the mvComponents Suite 2.0, a separate 3.0 version of Power Strings will be made available to the general Windows and Web application develop market. There are three versions being developed, a COM-based version for existing Visual Studio 6.0 development languages, a managed component set for the .NET platform, and Java-based version. Pricing for each version has been set at $299.00 USD for a single developers license. Discounts will be available for developers required more than one version. A site license version will also be available at $1,499.00 USD.

Version 3.0 of Vantage Control Set includes a completely rebuilt set of OCX controls based on the Active Template Library (ATL) rather than the MFC based version currently available. This will reduce the amount of dependency DLLs needed for distribution and will provide for a leaner, faster set of controls. An upgrade is also planned for the VPComboBox and VPListBox controls with added support of binding with ADO/OLEDB data sources. Version 3.0 should be available in the 3rd Quarter of 2002. A version of Vantage Control Set is also planned for 2002 which will provide components for the .NET platform. Please check back later for a full list of new features and enhancements.
